9 Soulful Rabindranath Tagore Poems
"Every person is worthy of an infinite wealth of love - the beauty of his soul knows no limit." ― Glimpses of Bengal
# 9 The Kiss
Two waves rise by the law of loveto break and die on two sets of lips.
# 8 Lost Time
I was tired and sleeping on my idle bed and imagined all work had ceased.
In the morning I woke up and found my garden full with wonders of flowers.
# 7 Lotus
I knew not then that it was so near, that it was mine, and that this perfect sweetness had blossomed in the depth of my own heart.#6 Stream Of Life
The same stream of life that runs through my veins night and day runs through the world and dances in rhythmic measures.
# 5 Hard Times
All that is past: your fears and loves and hopes;
All that is lost: your words and lamentation; No longer yours a home nor a bed composed of flowers.
For wings are all you have, and the sky's broadening country yard,
And the dawn steeped in darkness, lacking all direction.
Dear bird, my sightless bird,
Not yet, not yet the time to furl your wings!
# 4 You Left Me
You left me and went on your way.
I thought I should mourn for youand set your solitary image in my
heart wrought in a golden song.
But ah, my evil fortune, time is short.
# 3 Waiting
The song I came to sing remains unsung to this day.I have spent my days in stringing and in unstringing my instrument.
#2 On the Seashore
On the seashore of endless worlds, children meet.
The infinite sky is motionless overhead and the restless water is boisterous. On the seashore of endless worlds, the children meet with shouts and dances.
#1 Gardner - Speak to me, my Love
"The night will pale. The day willdawn. We shall look at each other's eyes and go on our different paths.
Speak to me, my love! Tell me in words what you sang"
